Whether you want to draw attention to a specific disease, a possible treatment or free screenings that patients can get, you need a health fair display table that will catch their attention from across the room and as they walk by. Health fairs are a great way to educate the general public and teach them how to get and stay healthy. Using the right decorating and design tips can help you create the best table at the fair.
Use Movement
One reason an individual might walk by your booth without a second glance is because it looks like all the other booths and tables at the fair. Using movement is a simple way to catch their eyes and make them want to come over and find out more. You don’t need to spend a lot of time or money on this movement either. Even a few balloons attached to the side of the table that move and float through the air can get you the attention that you want.
Bring Take Home Items
The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) recommends that you bring some literature that visitors can take home with them when attending a health fair. If you work for a nonprofit organization, simply display some of the brochures that you usually give out to contributors or volunteers. These brochures let visitors know what your organization does. When they read that information at home, they might decide to volunteer or make a donation too. You can also use promotional items like key chains or refrigerator magnets that you pass out to visitors.
Include a Gimmick
Some of the more successful health fair tables are those that include some type of a gimmick. You might make a large pot of coffee and bring paper cups that you use to give visitors a free cup of coffee when they stop by, or you might set up a roulette wheel with different prizes listed in lieu of numbers. When they spin the wheel, they get a prize. Prizes can include small key chains, brochures about your organization and even small gift cards to local restaurants.
Use Signs and Banners
Not using signage is one of the biggest mistakes that you can make when setting up a health fair display table. If you have no signs, those walking by have no idea what your booth is about and are less likely to stop and learn more. Even if you do use signs, you might make the mistake of using signs that are too small. Visitors won’t see those signs until they reach the table and might keep walking instead of stopping. You need at least one large sign on the center of the table and signs on any sides that face the crowd.
Go Vertical
As you design your display table, you probably think about a horizontal design that includes a flat table with a few things on the top and maybe a few banners hanging down. To get more attention, you should think about a vertical design. When you design from the ground to the ceiling, you’ll appeal to even more visitors. Placing shelves on top of your tables makes you stand out from other tables that are flatter and can grab the attention of new visitors.
Health fairs provide screenings and useful information to patients about medical conditions and treatments. When you work for a hospital, a medical facility or a nonprofit organization that sets up at these events, you need to make your health fair display table through the use of signage, take home items and some type of a gimmick.
