While it is true that number of large healthcare conferences that administrators may be interested in attending are scheduled for Washington, D.C., New York, or Florida in 2018, west coast based administrators will still find a number of conferences that can benefit their clinics, hospitals, and facilities in California, Oregon, and Washington during 2018. Some conferences are focused on rural healthcare, while others have a focus on management, legislative updates, and vendor exhibitions of interest to hospital and clinic administrators.
2018 Northwest Rural Health Conference
With over 350 attendees, the 2017 Northwest Rural Health Conference was a resounding success. Geared toward rural health association administrators in the Pacific Northwest, the conference is set for March 26-28 in Spokane, Washington. Along with networking opportunities and keynote speakers, the conference will feature mobile learning labs and breakout sessions that will provide information useful for medical practitioners and administrators providing health for rural clinics, systems, and acute care facilities.
2018 OR/WA MGMA Annual Conference
With the theme of “A Leader’s Purpose,” the 2018 Oregon and Washington Medical Group Management Association’s conference will be held May 9-11 at the Oregon Convention Center and the Doubletree Hilton, Lloyd Center, in Portland, Oregon. More than 300 practice leaders, including CEOs, administrators, and managers, are expected to attend. Keynote speakers and an exhibition with relevant vendors and service providers highlight the event, which is focused on healthcare administrators from all sizes of medical facilities and practices.
3rd World Congress on Medical Sociology & Community Health
Set for September 19-20, 2018 in San Diego, California, an international conference for health care administrators focused on community health will feature internationally-recognized speakers and peer-reviewed journal information. The conference is sponsored by iMedPub LLC and Conference Series Ltd. The 2017 conference was held in Atlanta, Georgia.
CAHF Annual Convention & Expo 2018
The California Association of Health Facilities is the trade association for skilled nursing and intermediate health facilities. Its annual conference is held each year in November at the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel & Convention Center in Palm Springs, California. The convention has more than 250 exhibitors and attracts many facility administrators. With approximately 2,000 attendees, the convention is set for November 11-14, 2018.
Health Care Administrators Association Executive Forum 2018
The 2018 Health Care Administrators Association Executive Forum will be held February 5-7 at the Encore at Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada. The forum is focused on third-party and benefit administrative and executive leaders. With approximately 400 attendees each year, the forum will also include a post-conference seminar for emerging leaders. “The Future of Health and Medicine,” and “The Art of Customer Engagement” are both topics for keynote speeches. Healthcare reform and national politics and becoming a media healthcare expert are also scheduled topics.
Conferences for healthcare administrators are available along the West Coast in 2018, including a February event for executives in Las Vegas, Nevada. Administrators have busy schedules but can benefit from networking, expert presentations, and hands-on workshops. Conferences that combine large vendor expos and opportunities for some rest and relaxation may have the greatest appeal for healthcare administrators and management staff.
